Principal's Message:

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and the Community of Dos Palos:

My name is Doreen Castillo and I am so proud to be the new principal at Dos Palos High School.  It is a truly rare and unique opportunity that the same high school I graduated from back in 1987 is the school I have the opportunity to lead in 2021.  Being back in Bronco Blue feels fantastic - Once a Bronco, always a Bronco.

With the start of a new school year and the return to students on campus, the emphasis here at DPHS will be: Doing What’s in the Best Interest of Kids!  Our commitment to students focuses on every student being exposed to new learning experiences, every student finding a way to be connected with high school life, and every student knowing they have someone who cares about them and is there to help.

Our priority is to keep everyone safe while not making life more difficult for our parents and students. Each family situation is uniquely different and we fully understand your concerns about health and safety, the importance of face-to-face instruction, and all of the other unexpected consequences of Covid-19.  Students will be attending school Monday through Friday on a full instructional day schedule.  However, we acknowledge that some students may have a medical risk that needs to be discussed.  For planning purposes, if you feel that your child’s health will be at risk by attending in-person instruction, please contact the District Office at (209) 392-0200 to arrange a parent-educator conference to discuss program options.

Teachers, staff, and administration will work hard to continue the legacy of student success by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. Our teachers will utilize innovative teaching practices, analyze data to enhance instructional practices, and incorporate Common Core Standards to help students reach their full potential.  We pledge to continue providing academic experiences that are rigorous, relevant, and help students make real world connections.

I encourage our parents/guardians to frequently visit our webpage and follow us on social media for up to date and accurate information. Messages will be sent out using Parent Square so keeping your contact information updated in Aeries is the best way to ensure you get regular communication from the school.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to discuss. I can be reached at [email protected] / (209) 392-0300 ext. 0302 or you are always welcome to stop by the school to meet.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Doreen Castillo, M.Ed.
