Halo Smart Sensors

As vaping continues to become more popular among the youth, the District begins to use a new technology device called Halo Smart Sensors, which use real-time vape detection. The Halo detects a multitude of chemicals and is the only vape sensor that detects THC oil. The Halo also detects vandalism and will send an alarm if the unit is tampered. Students will not know when the alarm is set off because it does not emit any light or sound, but will alert administration via text and email.

Students caught vaping will be subject to disciplinary consequences by school administration.

On November 1, the District had the Halo sensors installed at Westside High School. After the winter break Dos Palos High School will have them installed with Bryant Middle School following.

Our number one goal is always the safety of our students and staff. We feel this is a path in the right direction in maintaining safety. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the district office at 209.392.0200.
